  • swirls will not leave

I got a PC with the 83,80 then nxt wax. I forget what pads I used but they are what everyone recomends, not the wool ones. The paint looked much better in the dark or shade but in the sun its just about as bad. I did not clay first but that should not have caused this or maybe it could have?

Also the #83 is really hard to get off. The #80 is easier but is still hard to get off. THis was my first time using the PC.

here is a before picture of the top but the swirls are pretty much still there.

    Hi mustangless,

Typically, when people are unable to remove swirls using the dual action polisher and M83/M80, the reason comes down to either the wrong technique, or the paint is too hard and requires the use of a rotary buffer by a trained professional.

Often times during the Saturday classes here at Meguiar's, when we demonstrate the techniques for using the dual action polisher, I'll hear someone watching, (that owns a dual action polisher and has been using it), say something like this,

Hmmm, that's what I've been doing wrong..."

It's always technique related. The only other exception is paint hardness.

We had a Viper at one of our classes in which the paint was so hard, the dual action polisher and M83 didn't even phase it. We ended up using a foam cutting pad and some M84 Compound Power Cleaner to remove the swirls and scratches.
