  • Fabric wheel arch liners

    Hi,

As on most modern cars the front wheel arch liners are plastic but the rear arch liners are a fabric material, this helps NVH.
My question, what do you use to clean the fabric material of all that road crud?
The front plastic liners are simple, a squirt of APC, agitation with a brush and then hose off.
Can I do the same on the rear liners?

    Thanks in advance.

Thank you Murr1525, do you then rinse off with a pressure washer or a normal hosepipe?

I'm with Murr, except I usually have APC Plus on hand. Spray with APC+, brush with Deep crystal soap, high pressure wash. I air dry them with a leaf blower, then use a tire shine product like Meguiar's Foam or even Black Magic pump spray.

Depending on how dirty they are, I use an old wash mitt (for wheel wells/tires exclusively) with a bucket of water with something like Palmolive dish soap. Pre-rinse with standard garden hose and scrub with mitt then final rinse. I will use something stronger (APC or the like) again depending on how gunked up they are but that is rare to need something stronger. This method has worked over and over for me, leaving a nice looking detail on the wheel wells.

            Hope it has helped.

Mine is black fabric and I never thought of cleaning it.
I will spray some cleaners on it next time I wash my car.

For fabric wells I just power wash, foam, rinse, air dry.

On the traditional plastic I power wash, degrease, power wash, agitate with soapy water, rinse, dry, dress with dressing.
