  • Hi-Tech Yellow Wax#26 and NXT question

    Hi,
I am hoping to be getting my car from fabricator in a few days and cannot remember the order to apply these, Does the NXT go on first or does the #26 go on first. I seem to think its the NXT first, is that correct?

    thanks
    Ben

NXT would go first and you can top it with #26.

      Agreed.

NXT is a all-in-one product while #26 is a pure wax. NXT contains small amount of cleaner and polish so it should go in first.

Depending on the condition of your car, NXT may not contain enough cleaner to prep the paint. Another alternative for the 1st coat is Cleaner Wax.

NXT is a fully synthetic sealant that does contain some polishing oils, but it's not a cleaner wax at all. That myth started quite a few years ago and for some reason, as much as we try to refute it, people still perpetuate it. Nonetheless, the generally accepted approach to applying both a synthetic (NXT) and carnauba (M26) is to lay down the synthetic first.

Good to know. I always thought that NXT is a AIO product, so, it would contain cleaner and polish ingredients. Also, I also thought that #21 is NXT without the cleaner.

How about UW? Any cleaner in UW?

M21 is very similar to NXT, that's true, but the main difference is that M21 can be applied with a rotary buffer if you so desire. No cleaners in UW either.

                Thanks for the clarification.
With this information, I would use Cleaner Wax more often.

Keep doing what you're doing. M21 is one of the few waxes we make that can be applied with a rotary, but they all can be applied with a dual action polisher (DA), orbital or by hand. Doing so makes it really easy to get a very thin and uniform coat of any wax applied, which really is what you want.
