I will open a center for hand wash and detail a car in Bosnia
What do I need to have a show car detail center?
What is the concept?

1---- You need a garage or building with proper water and sewage. I realize in Europe most everything is 230vac to run everything and I think the UK is 240vac. Anyway, make sure you have at least one 200amp panel (american standard). It is best to have two, that way you have room for several vacums, extractors... Plus, if you do any welding etc it comes real handy.
2---- Tools: Rotary Polisher, D/A Polisher (good to have two of each for backups), Backing Plates and Foam Pads for the Polishers. If you buy a porter cable TCP makes an adapter screw that accepts the rotary backing plates. Sanding Blocks, Carpet Extractor, Shop Vac, Steamer, Extension Cords (check local codes by the good ones at least 12 gauge), Halogen Work Lights, Foam/Microfiber Pads, Microfiber Towels, Paint Gauge Thickness Checker ( Just by the old school paint pen, been around for years only 50bux, electric ones are to expensive), Air Compressor with air guns etc, Waterblade/ or Chammee whatever you prefer, Rubber Undercoating Gun, Primer/HVLP GUN (for spraying fender wells, etc), Tool Box and basic metric tools (you will need to remove panels etc from time to time), Pressure Washer, Foam Gun
3-----Supplies: Wet Sand Paper (3M, Meguiars whatever you prefer), Sandpaper, Compound (Prefer Megs Mirror Glaze Line), Clay (Auto Magic Aggresive I prefer, MEGS Commercial not bad, use what you prefer), Polishes (Mirror Glaze Line not bad, Kar Kraft makes nice stuff as well), Waxes/Sealents. Glass Compounds and Cleaners, Vinyl Cleaner/Dressing, Leather Cleaner/Dressing, Tire Cleaners/Dressing, Quickwaxes, Quickdetailers This can go on for hours.... Amazon.com sells a complete pro detailer kit for about 2k that has most of what you would need chemical wise and most of it is MEGS commercial.
4-----Reputation, enough said. The best advertising is word of mouth and this takes time. To have a show car detailing shop you need to be able to proove you can do what your advertising.
5----- Time, if you have a garage at home that may be the best place to start. The worst thing to do is sink a fortune into a business and go nowhere. Besides, the guys I know that actually make money doing this are mobile. They have water tanks on the back of their trucks and do quick washes and waxes. They stay away from major paint restores most people are not interested or to cheap to pay what its worth, the ones that are have their detailers.
6--- The concept is simple, build a customer base, find local competitors prices and charge a fair price. Run a business properly managing inventory properly, and matching supply with demand. If the demand if for simple wash and waxes for example meet that demand. JMO having a show car garage shop is nice but I would rather have a steady cash flow coming in to keep my business in solvency. Besides, sometimes the small profit margins, have a higher production function with a higher marginal productivity of labor over a major showcar overall. Sorry, I am a triple major in Finance, Econ, Business Econ, and minor in Accounting...

You've given a great list enough to scare, err uh, encourage anyone. I might add one, willingness.

Willingness to work long and hard, that and a step ladder for trucks and SUV's, a digital camera and some insurance to protect yourself.

Very good point, and if possible start your company as an LLC to protect your personal assets. Sometimes detailing family vehicles for free helps, it acts as free advertisement. I guess business cards help as well. Actually, they do help...
