After detailing one of the more neglected rigs at the firehouse (which turned out awesome, at least doing it by hand awesome), some of the guys want me to detail their personal vehicles.
It was more of a test of products and techniques on the fire house rig; Not to mention that the poor thing really needed it; and the more practice on a vehicle that I couldn't really screw up how it looked.
The test rig was the Brush Truck, used for wildland firefighting. Left out in the elements, water spots galore, tons of scratches (which some I could not correct) from tree limbs and underbrush. I couldn't mess it up anymore than it was.
But as far as personal vehicles go ... I'm not sure I want to try to do any paint corrections or blemish touch ups. Just a simple wash, maybe clay and wax.
So should I do it? Of course I will compensated for my time ... But that's besides the point. And it would be while I was on duty. There's nothing stating I can't turn a dime on company time so long as it is after duty hours 1600-0700.
Need advice.
