  • Zaino Z-2 & bug removal

Yes my first post and I've already said the "Z" word! My buddy has a brand new Challenger RT Classic and said he was using Zaino Z-2 polish (I'd never heard of it). He said he could wipe bugs right off from having applied the Z-2 and using the Z-5 quick detailer? I really didn’t believe him. So today at lunch he shows me, took the detailer out sprayed it on a microfiber cloth and wiped the dead bugs of the nose of the car! Some he had to use a little force but it was the easiest I've ever seen bugs come off without any real effort and did not leave any residue. The paint was CLEAN! I went over with my finger and it was smooth! Now ya'll are thinking that I'm trying to pump up Zaino but I'm really not. I have used Megs religiously, since 1986 and have preached the gospel.

So have I been in the dark or is there a product or products out there that Megs has that can do this?

Also what is the easiest way to get a summer worth of dead bugs off?

Thanks any positive input is appreciated

I have a coat of Megs GC and reg hits of UQW on my G35....on a long cruise last month I killed at least a 1000 mosquitos, wipe them off with MF and UQD. Car looked like it was just washed

Same here. I travel back and forth from Montreal and Toronto often, about 500 km one way. Needless to say, the front of my car is full of bugs after each trip in the summer months. I never have problems to remove them with a regular wash. The bugs just come off easily with the regular MF wash mitt and GC wash. Sometimes these bugs stay on my car for a few days. I do wax my car regularly, this is probably why.

Last Touch is probably your best bet for something like this. In my personal opinion, though, the best and safest bug removal method is to set a damp microfiber towel with warm water and car soap over the bugs and let it soak for a minute or two. Remove the towel and gently rinse it away.

This method doesn't risk pushing the hard shells of the bugs/insects across the paint. Then follow with a traditional wash or a spray product like UQW.

I stopped using Zaino years ago and don't know what the new Z2 stuff can do, but I personally wouldn't use that or ANY spray product for severely dried on bug removal without re-hydrating first.

^ I think LT will work just as good...especially if the bug splats are fresh.....
