  • Scratch. Now what?

Okay so I am a freak about where I park right!! I go to a golf outing yesterday, parked in a safe spot (so,I thought) and get done and right behind the gas cap on my 2011 GMC is a scratch right down and through the primer. I don't deal well with these issues. One because I'm crazy fussy, two because it pis@es me off that people are morons.

Anyway, I wont do it myslef, but if left to a professional what is the best way to fix this? About 3/4" long and very narrow but if you look close it dented the sheet metal like it was shot with a BB gun. Don't think it was a door. No paint transfer. More likely some dude carrying a golf bag whacked the paint with it? I have a paint professional very close by that I trust a lot. What will they most likely do? What do you guys suggest? I will polish and compound all day long but I don't want to tackle this.

im sure they will go through the gas door and take the small dent out that way. As for the paint repair, its up to your budget. Most likely someone will air brush and blend the area to save time and money. 90% of the time you will never see the repair unless your under direct sun light and your at an exact angle looking at the repair.

The other way is the traditional blend and re clear the the entire rear quarter.

Personally I would get it air brushed. Its a daily driver and more dings, chips and idiots will happen again.

Pics would be helpful, but if it is down to the primer, it will need to be repainted.
