  • Cleaning gauge cluster paneling

    Hey there!

I have a small question. How are most of you guys cleaning the glass the covers the Tach and Speedo without scatching it??

    Any insight would be great!

    Thanks

Well, touch them as little as possible.

When htey need dusted, I go with Quick interior Detailer and a very good cloth.

Meguiar's Quik Detailer Interior is the best product I have used for cleaning all inside parts, including the gauge covers.

How about the same product you use to clean your windows (inside)?

For my windows, I use NXT Glass Cleaner, and sometimes Invisible Glass.

I use PlastX on the gauge cluster. Usually, it is not actually glass and it is plastic. If yours is actually glass then you could use, regular glass cleaner.

Since it is plastic, then I would use PlastX.

                I would not use PlastX.

Use a damp microfiber with some QID on it and follow up to dry with a soft plush mf.

The PlastX will be a creamy mess if your not careful.

Plus if its brand new careful cleaning will be enough.

Whatever you do, do not use terry or cotton cloths.

Guys, I don't know if I would recommend using an abrasive like PlastX for regular cleaning, unless he's trying to remove scratches. How about #18 Clear Plastic Detailer?

                    Re: Cleaning gauge cluster paneling

I use Plastx, but I am also detailing other people vehicles most of the time. On mine, that I keep fairly clean all the time, I use QID.

Like I said, use whatever you use to clean your car windows. Even windex will do.

I don't use Windex because the ammonia is not good for my tinted windows.
