I went out and applied UW with my DA and used what i thought was very little and applied to most of the car. Then i went back to the start and began removing. It is dark out now, but used my LED light to light up the paint and there are many streaks - pretty much most of the car. This was only the first coat - i was going to put 2 as is suggested, but i've stopped now because of the streaks and i dont want to compound the problem with another layer.

How can i now remove the streaks - UQD?

Do a test area, but a second coat might solve it... try to stay a little thinner. You might also try removing sooner.

Once you see the streaks, lightly mist the surface with plain water then wipe it down. This should eliminate your streaking problem.

By morning the streaks maybe gone. I get streaks at overlaps when applying wax. Usually disappear before or as I wipe off.

thanks for the advice.

I let it dry for about 10 minutes, maybe a little longer; but it was kinda humid out. I am pretty sure i put a very light coat on - i was afraid of going too light and just scrubbing the paint with a bare foam pad.

I tried some QD and it seems to even the streaks so they are not as noticeable, but a finger swipe and i see it is still there. I will try misting water and see how this goes.

If this does'nt solve it i will try a second light coat - maybe one panel at a time so it doesn't sit as long? This would result in almost no drying time.

I would do every 3-4 panels by hand. By this I mean, apply to 3-4 panels and then go back and wipe off from the first panel you applied to.

Reducing the sit time eliminates some of the streaking issues you get with the liquid version and a wait time of 3-5 minutes is all you need.

well i tried all the suggestions without much success. I ended up reapplying to all the surfaces as i wanted to make sure i had enough protection on all surfaces and let it sit for over an hour (went and ate dinner). This did not do much - but did not add any streaks either. I then went over everything with a detailer which seemed to help a bit - at least makeing the streaks less noticable.

I will try the 3-5 minute wait next time. I need to tackle my black painted roof which i'm a little nervous about since it seems to magnify every imperfection.

I think this wax and I have potential - it just has a larger learning curve than others i'm used to.

The high humidity could be playing a role in this as well. What time of day are you working on the car? Are you working in shade or sun?

It was late afternoon to early evening (4pm - 7pm) and it was in the garage, but we were in the middle of a heat wave so I do think the humidity was a factor. I doubt i was putting it on too thick - i mean i hardly used any wax at all for both coats and i could barely see it on the paint while i was applying it.

The Thin Film Technology in UW can definitely make it a bit tough to see where you've applied and where you haven't. But on your next go 'round with the product definitely go with short dry time approach. Just do one or two panels and then go back and wipe off before continuing with application.
