Re: New to Ultimate Liquid Wax

Yep, I read the directions on the bottle. That's why they are there. The directions on my can of #16 state, "....Apply a thin even coat one section at a time..." Not so on the Ultimate.

Re: New to Ultimate Liquid Wax

        I did some more research.
Some people, in other detailing forums, said that it's better to leave the UW on the car to dry (haze) before removing it. This will eliminate the streak effects on the car.

        Now I am confused.

Dont over think it too much.... Go out and use it... try some each way, see what you like best.

I let it haze, and had no issues.

The car wont be ruined if you mess up, just a few streaks.

Anyone know if UW fill minor swirls like NXT does?

Yeah, seems to hide things a bit.

Murr1525: You are right. I will use UW this weekend. I will let it haze before wiping. Either way should be fine, my car is easy because it's silver and it's in good condition.

I am now debating if I should buy the Ultimate Polish. I already have both DC-Cleaner and DC-Polish. I will buy the UP if it can save me one step!!!

Wouldn't be bad to try UP.... I wouldn't expect a pure polish like DC2 to show much difference on silver.

Words of wisdom for sure. Detailing is not brain surgery.

How much less protection are you getting UQW rather than the liquid Carnauba?
BTW, UQW give a great wax coating... just wonder the difference?

Liquid Carnauba is real wax which will last or should last for a while.
UQW is just a booster for the wax, ideal after a car wash as a wax enhencement.

While UQW is no substitute to a wax, it is great for people in this forum. We usually wax our car often so we use UQW in-between waxes.

My car is newly painted, I have been using UQW... should I put a layer of liquid on first?
The UQW does leave it real smooth?

If your car is newly painted, do not put wax for at least 30 days. The paint has to be "outgassed".

Actually, I read before and the wait time was 90 days. I guess the wait time is probably shorter in summer months.
Wash it often but no wax !!!

Re: New to Ultimate Liquid Wax

Thanks the car was painted the beginning of June. The body shop said it's cured.
They did advise me after that bird left that very acid dropping on my car that a coat of wax would have helped it to be removed easier.
So it's been about 2 months now since it was painted.

So that being taken into consideration, do you think UQW is giving me adequate protection?
The paint feels nice and smooth... no bumps at all..

                              thanks for your response...
                              Steve

You should definitely apply wax to your car.
Then use UQW after each wash. UQW will extend the longevity of the wax.
