  • which pad for UP and UC

Which pad is best for either of these products? Does it depend on the amount of correction i'm after? If so, would it may be appropriate to use a finishing pad with UP for final pass before waxing to acheive the most color and clarity?

    thanks

    Yeah, pretty much.

The polishing pad would be the main one... you could try a finishing pad if you felt like it.

      You are right.

      UC: Polishing Pad
      UP: Finishing Pad

If you're looking to do a one step with UP then you can use the polishing pad. But if you're going to hit your car with UC first then you're not really correcting the paint with UP but just refining it so the finishing pad will be more proper in that case.

Pretty much. I recently did a detail which required UC on the roof, bonnet and front bumper. So on those sections I used UC on a polishing pad followd by UP on a finishing pad. For the rest of the car, which had minor swirls, I just used UP on a polishing pad, but on the last two passes I dropped the speed to 4 and lifted the pressure slightly, my theory being that it would refine the finish a tad better like a finishing pad would. Not sure if thats true but seemed to work for me!
