  • Help - how to remove Bug and Tar remover from plastic trim

Somehow when cleaning my wife's Mazda 2 (Demio) I neglected to wipe off the Meguiars Bug and Tar remover from the plastic trim before it dried. Now I can't get it off. I don't want to use any cleaner, as I don't want to fade the plastic trim in the process.

What can I apply safely without too much rubbing, and that won't damage or fade the trim, to remove the dried Bug and Tar remover. Any suggestions? Maybe some more Bug and Tar remover?

    Thanks!

(PS: I love the Bug and Tar remover, it removes bugs and tar instantly)

    You could use:

    D101 All Purpose Cleaner
    D103 All Purpose Cleaner Plus
    M40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/ Conditioner
M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner (most aggressive).

You may need to agitate the area with soft brush.

I second Greg's advice. Probably best to start off with APC and an old tooth brush. Rather go over the area several times with the soft brush and APC than trying to remove everything in one application. Once clean, wash the area, dry it thoroughly and then apply some Ultimate Protectant.

(I apologize for necro'ing this thread.) Having the same issue... What did you use and how were the results? Going for the M39 solution myself. I wonder what kind of precautions I should take if using the M39...
