  • Rust proofing and detailing ?

Hey there, I'm picking up new Toyota Venza and was wondering first whether Rustproofing at Krown is a good idea ? http://krown.com
Second I think it involves spraying engine bay with the product aswell, how does it look when you detail your engine bay, does rust proofing creates a problem for people who like to detail their cars and like to do more than just to drive through auto wash at a local gas station ?

Re: Rust proofing and detailing ?

I get my cars rust proofed every fall, so for me it is a good idea. I am not familiar with Krown, however if it is an oil type spray and they spray the same as my service does, there wil lbe oil residue in the engine bay. This is mostly on the firewall, top of the wheel wells, and front support metal. The engine, accessories, and hoses are not normal sprayed. While I to keep my engine reasonably cleaned and detailed, it is not a priority for me, as I am the only one who sees it. Rust protection is my concern. If you want an engine compartment looking like or better than when it came from the factory, you might have some issues with them spraying it. You could always ask them not to spray it, however I am not sure what that will do to their warranty. My four year old car has zero rust, even on undercarriage parts like shocks, lines, brake components, frame, etc. and I drive on a lot of salty roads in the winter. And, as for your question about auto washes, no I am not an auto wash fan. I prefer a scratch and swirl free finish.
