When washig your car, how long do you wait untill spraying off the car wash soap?

Hey guys, this is somewhat of a strange question, but I'll let you know why I'm asking this shortly. Of course it is ok and I guess it's even recommended to leave the car wash soap solution on the car only for a few minutes at the most before rinsing the car off. But I was wondering more specifically, would leaving the car wash soap on the car for a much longer period of time especially if you are using something that conditions the paint like Meguiars Gold Class or Meguiars Ultimate wash and wax AND keeping the surface just slightly damp to prevent the soap from drying on the surface. Would this if done every time you wash your car, make your car's paint more smooth, soft, and overall improve the condition of the paint in any way? Just curious if anyone has ever tried this. But anyway, thank you all for your time.

I do let the UW&W sit a bit longer, dont worry if it dries a bit, etc. Dont know if it helps the wax at all, but maybe.

Before I switched to rinseless washing, I used to never rinse the car off until I was done with the entire car. I always let the soap sit on the car even in the direct sunlight. Better the soap than the hard water IMO.

I also switched to an rinseless car wash system. Optimum No Rinse. It does everything and more. Saves water, makes less of a mess, its faster than a traditional wash, safe on all paints, dirty cars, even daily drivers that haven't been washed in a month or two i can safely wash with onr. and it leaves a just waxed look. Its one of those products that really does everything it claims to and more. I was told about it a year ago and i am so glad i bought a gallon.

Wow, I keep seeing this product pop up in the various car wash threads I have done. I'm going to have to try this stuff out real soon. Does it smell good?

It is popular, esp if low on water.

If it's cloudy or cool sometimes I wait until I'm done with the top half of the car. Sunny or windy more often like every 2 panels or so.
