  • Glass cleaner on winshield, wiper?

    Dear all,

I've tried several products for my windshield, Meg's NXT, Rain-X, Turtle Wax. All of them show a great result, clean my windshield, rain repellent formula work perfectly. My windshield became as smooth as the car body.

    BUT...

the wiper become stuck on the windshield, it become hard to move, like something make it stick on the surface of the glass. If I use the lowest wiper speed, it stuck in the middle of the movement, so I have to switch in into medium or even highest speed

And wiper sounds is really terrible, I have to turn on my washer so many times so the wiper can move smoothly on the windshield.

Anybody can tell me what is happen? Or do you have the same experience with me? how to solve this problem?

    Thanks

RainX was notorious for causing wiper judder. These days I just use X-Press Spray Wax/UQW on the glass. When washing the car I also gently wipe down the wiper blades with a towel moistened with car wash soap. I replace my wiper blades every year in spring so they are always in top shape.

FWIW, I just drove back from a family visit in MPLS and ran through a monsoon on the way home. My wipers were hardly needed. Like RainX, X-Press Spray Wax made the glass water repellant at least at highway speeds and it's much easier to apply and remove.

You might try wiping your glass and wiper blades down with a 50/50mix of IPA and water to remove any traces of old coatings or product. I'd not use the IPA on the rubber more than once or twice though as it will tend to dry the rubber out. You might also clay the glass to remove any bonded crud.

I have not experienced it, but getting a cloth with some glass cleaner on it, and wiping the blades cant hurt.

        Thanks all...

I've clay my windshield, I've change my wiper every 6 months (Tropical environment, seaside and industrial area) , and wipe the wiper blade with wash soap.

If water+IPA application have different result compare to claying, surely I will try to.

        Thanks

Wiperswyper.com This new product abrades the hardened rubber on the side of wiper blades to expose fresh rubber. The side of the blade is what makes the squeegee effect. It is currently only available on the website. It should be available on jbtoolsales.com in a few days.

Hello Dave....I see you are a supposed non bias purchaser giving customer reviews on the web site. Yet in your introduction post, you say you represent this new product, all the while posing as a customer on the wiperswyper site. That is a tad dishonest in my opinion. If the other reviewer your brother in law? As for the product, I have not tried it, however in my opinion, the corner of a real fine grit piece of sand paper would work equally or better and cheaper. Or like most people, I simply give my wipers a good cleaning every time I wash the cars, (that gets all the crud off as you say on the site) When new ones are needed, buy a new set of wipers. Wipers are cheap.

I started using the product and was quoted on the website. Then I started representing it later. There was and is no attempt at deception. The product uses sandpaper that is mounted on a backing that is designed to give the appropriate pressure to the sandpaper. Wipers are cheap. This product is also cheap and won't wear out.
              Thanks for the feedback.
