  • Removing old wax from seam

I was cleaning my car today and noticed some very old wax on the paint in a seam. It is hard to get to. Is there anything that will help disolve the dried on wax? A Q-Tip with Meguiar's #40 didn't seem to do any good.

Re: Removing old wax from seam

I just copied an old post from Meguiars' Mike Stoops. One of those things you'll always remember.

    "Bamboo cooking skewers. Seriously.

You get a bunch of them for about a buck, they get into really tight areas and won't scratch the paint. If they're good enough for Tim McNair to use when prepping a multi million dollar Alfa, Ferrari, Duesenberg, etc for a concours event like Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Villa d'Este, etc then they should be OK for anything."

Thanks. Now I need to try to figure out where to get them.

Most grocery stores carry them and I have also seen them at Big Lots and the 99 cent stores.
