  • Can you use a foam pad to remove wax?

I have a Sears Craftsman 9 inch orbital buffer/polisher. It has only one speed and runs at 3100 RPM's and 2400 OPM's (oscillations per minute).

I can use a foam pad to apply wax, and remove it with a terry-cloth pad. I read somewhere that you can use a foam pad to remove the wax, instead of the terry-cloth. Using the foam pad is supposed to give the car a better appearance.

    Is this true?

OR Should I continue to use the foam pad to apply wax and the terry-cloth pad to remove the wax?

    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks in advance!

I've read this before too, but have never tired it. Try this idea at your own risk, for some reason it doesn't sound like a good idea when a bonnet is available.

If anything, try it in one small area, the remove the product with a bonnet over the rest of the car and then inspect for any differences in bright light like sunlight.

Best of luck and report back here your experience.
