Some manufacturers recommend not using abrasives on some of their glass. Lexus, as an example, uses a coated glass on the driver and passenger's windows to repel rain.

Now whether clay is abrasive and will damage that coating, I don't know. Perhaps being overly cautious, I don't clay those two windows out of habit.

I clay my glass once every 2 months or so. Comes out feeling as smooth as my paint!

The first time I clayed my windshield...I was amazed at how crystal clear it was!!!

Can it then be gone over with a polish or wax using the Megs DA !!

A paint cleaner can be used on glass to get rid of grime if needed.

Some people like to wax their glass, some dont. I use RainX myself.

I've clayed my glass and used a paint cleaner with good results followed by a good sealant or wax.

I clayed my glass and I was amazed how much stuff came off! It's actually "smooth as glass" now lol. Thanks for all the replies

For the final step on glass after claying, I agree with Murr that a glass specific final step be used. I was a Rain-X user for a long time, but about a year ago mover over to Aqua-Pel.

I would clay and rain-x as well, but I replaced rain-x with UQW and prefer UQW anytime.

I am still trying to "use up" my rain-x so my new method of using it is that I apply it to my windshield BEFORE I wash the car. In find this method does away with the notorious streaks rain-x causes and it also does away with wiper chatter.

I like using just Glass Cleaner Concentrate as Syn X-Press or UQW leaves a film for me.

I never really considered clay as an "abrasive" but rather as an "eraser" that pulls the **** out of your paint. Claying your windows - especially the windshield - has made a definite difference for me!
