  • Gold class trim detailer......horrible

I know that the gold class trim detailer is an older water based product. I was expecting it to run in the rain and when I washed. But I was not expecting it to mess with my buicket of gold class wash in my bucket. It completely eleminated all the suds in my wash bucket. The bucket of soap seem to take on a diffeferent color and form, very watery. Has anyone had this experience? I finished washing my truck and now I am concerned that my paint has the JUNK from the trim detailer all over it.

Also, after drying my truck, I notice that my chrome bumper now has run stains from the trim detailer, will this stuff eventually go away?

I will NEVER use gold class trim detalier again, I have purchased the ultimate protectant for the exterior, does it act the same as the gold class trim detailer or does it not run and leave oily stains? If it does act the same, I will have to look for another protectant.....

I imagine that a good wash will remove all remaining residue from the paint and chrome surfaces.

My favorite trim sealer is Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus. It dries clear and it does not run. It is also the most durable trim dressing I have come across. Calling it a dressing may not even be accurate; it seems to work more like a sealant.

Ultima. If you do a google search you will find several online places that sell it, including AutoGeek. You can also order it directly from Ultima. It's pricey, but a small bottle will last you a long time. I have never tried Megs' Ultimate Protectant, so cannot offer comparative reflections. All I know is that I am exceptionally satisfied with UTTGP. It's very easy to use and it performs.

Im guessing you applied it too thick and didnt wipe off the remaining residue. I will admit though that what you have described of gold class trim detailer is true, it does run. I now use it exclusively on exterior rubber as I feel it soaks in to the rubber and doesnt run, but on hard plastics it tends to run off...if that makes sense. I use ultimate protectant on black plastic now as it doesnt run off.
