21 is a wax. It's exactly what it says on the bottle, a synthetic wax. It's just not carnauba based like #26 hi-tech yellow wax. And yes after 12-24 hours, I'm sure you could top it with 26, ulw, NXT, etc.

              SunnyD,

Meguiar's states their products are completely compatible. So just about any wax/sealant will work on M07, except perhaps a cleaner wax. A cleaner wax might remove your efforts of M07.

NXT Tech 2.0 and M21 are sisters (or perhaps brothers), except M21 is formulated to work better than NXT when applied with a rotary.

Gold Class+ and M26 are very similar too.

Two products also somewhat similar are Ultimate Polish and M07.

So in the consumer line, easily available from most auto parts stores or WalMart, NXT and Gold Class+ are great wax/sealant. Ultimate Polish is a wonderful polish from the consumer line.

And from the pro line, perhaps not as readily available locally, is M21 and M26. Again great products. M07 being the pro line polish.

NXT and M21 might have better longevity and are best used under Gold Class+ and M26 rather than on top of, if you like one wax on another. Although two coats of the same wax/sealant is fine and recommended primarily to insure coverage, not so much for "layering".

Some folks feel Gold Class+ and M26 are a bit warmer in look and NXT and M21 are a bit sharper and more reflection defining.

And we dare not forget, the reputed king/queen of longevity and reflectivity, Ultimate Wax another great sealant. (subject of long debates of UW versus NXT)

Just remember, Ultimate Polish is a multi-use product and can be used differently depending on pads, force, arm speed and buffer speed. A true wonder.

And as Mike has implied, which would be after you used them all, "use what you like". Another mantra from Meguiar's.

Oh and one final note, remember sealants have a longer cure time than pure waxes. 12-24 hours before putting on a second coat. This does not apply to Ultimate Polish or M07, put on take off with polishes.

These products are similar in the loose sense of the word, but they are not substitutes for one another in the way that M21 and NXT Tech Wax are. Its the first time I've seen Gold Class wax and M26 referred to as "very similar".

Gold Class wax is a polish/wax while M26 is a pure wax. Many consumers prefer Gold Class wax because it saves them going through the whole two-step M07/M26 process. M26 lacks the look of the polishing oils in Gold Class wax, which is why M07 is such a crucial base for M26.

Ultimate Polish and M07 are different too. One is a cleaner/polish, the other a pure polish.

                    Slicked,
Thank you for pointing out my inappropriate comparisons. Here's a pretty good discussion of M26 and Gold Class+.

                    http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...&highlight=M26

Ultimate Polish, pre-wax glaze, does have some SMAT abrasives and not the oil load of M07. I feel with the right pad, pressure, speed, it produces some results similar to M07. As you point out, not similar products.

                    Thanks again for your clarification.
