That type of plastic does not absorb dressing very well at all in my experience. Being water based, hyper dressing probably isn't a good bet for exterior plastic as it may run when washed or rained on.
It's absolutely excellent for tires, wheel wells and engine bays - and even for trim as long as you're careful about getting it wet.
One thing that you want to ensure is that the surface you are dressing is properly cleaned - remove any dirt and residue from previously applied dressings. That being said, Hyperdressing is a water based product and doesn't have the durability of several other dedicated trim dressings in the Meguiars stable.
Try Ultimate Protectant, or my new favorite "trim dressing" Ultimate Liquid Wax .

I cleaned the area first with APC. I loved how it looked after I applied HD,how does ASD looked applied on trim?
Did you say you applied it and it looked like this after it got wet sometime later? By the way my personal favorite for exterior dressings is Ultimate Protectant.
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like. I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.
