  • Bad thing about driving my car in winter

These pictures were taken a day apart. It's not noticeable unless it is in DIRECT sunlight. Both sides of the car are like this. I finally got mud flaps for the car but it was a little too late. If its not in direct sunlight you can barely see it if you're right on top of it. Just thought I'd post these to show what salt and stuff off of the road has done.

I was thinking about getting Dr Colorchip for it. Has anybody ever used that before?

Anybody? I'm talking about right behind the wheels where it looks like dirt

A closer photo would be helpful. Thanks. Are there hundreds of chips?

What makes you think it's salt? Do you wash often in the winter? Any gravel roads?

There's a close picture I took a while back. I don't drive on an gravel roads but when they salt the roads I drive on in the winter they also put gravel down with it so I think that is what caused it. Are there too many chips for something like Dr ColorChip to do any good?

You can definately get Dr.Colorchip! I have it for my car and if you're patient, you can get great results with it. The paint match on my car was spot on. I've heard that darker colors are easier to hide chips as well.

Now... Don't go reading this thinking you're buying 100% fix. The repairs you make will not be noticeable at a glance, but YOU will know where they are.

Will the basic kit be enough or should I get the road rash kit?

All I can say is, "wow!".

Wow, that's a lot of damage.
Wow, I'm surprised the state uses gravel on paved roads. That's got to be like driving on marbles.
Wow, I'm surprised drivers put up with the damage.
Wow, that Dr. Colorchip can fix that.
Wow, this is not a particularly helpful post. Sorry.

Basic kit should be enough. I bought the road rash kit and it's def overkill. I went with the "more is better" idea when I purchased so I don't regret getting the extra paint.
