  • what are these?

    hey guys,

so i usually park under a tree and as I've noted in previous posts, it seems there is some sort of fallout that comes from the tree, because even AFTER i wash the car today with "ultimate wash and wax" there were these SPOTS that remains

There were there before already as it had rained this whole week, so the hood was full of these spots (i guess they were made up of pollen and just rain water)

but i thought that they would wash away with a car wash, but it remained

to take it off, I actually had to use some of the DC1 paint cleaner...

so my question is...what is this?? that it would stick on...and am i doing something wrong with waxing my car, because even though the water beads...i thought that the wax would prevent water stains and pollen from sticking to the paint

So you were able to get it off with DC paint cleaner?

Thats a good sign and tells you that the problem was somewhat topical ( close to the surface and not deep)

They look like just light water spots/stains to me.

I would go over any more areas like that with the DC paint cleaner and re wax or seal as needed.

Next time try using little vinegar diluted with water on the spots to see if its just water spots. In either case you will have to re-wax the area.

I had those on my car just yesterday. It is more than likely tree sap that has bonded to your paint, claying took mine off!
