washing rubber floormats

can i use the meguiars "wash and wax car wash soap" to wash my rubber all season floormats?

I just use the regular Meguiars car wash solutions; the wax may leave a film on the rubber mat.

Any household cleaner will do, even detergent.

can i just use hand soap? I was just going to do it at work tommorow with some of the hand soap from the bathroom

Hand soap may not be strong enough. Remember, hand soap is made for hands and is therefore relatively mild. If you have Fantastic or 409 that you use to clean the kitchen counters, try that. Eventually, get something like Simple Green

ohh right that's true...

the only other thing i have is powdered clothes detergent, like TIDE

would that work?

Tide will work but easier if you bring a brush.

I spray mine with Simple green and let them soak while i wash truck, then take my wash bucket with Deep Crystal Wash and clean them using a bristle brush

On a few rubber mats I have dry brushed the hard stuff off, vaccumed and then hit it with Purple Power, Simple Green, or stepped up to APC/APC+, brush, rinse, and if needed repeat and set out to dry in sun light.

A pressure washer gets the nooks and crannies clean as well.

Previously I used X-Jax on my rubber floor mats. I have since stepped up to Meguiar's APC mixed 10.1 and a scrub brush. That really works good, better than the A-Jax ever did.

APC or any automotive all-purpose cleaner plus scrubbing should work. A mild Dawn dishwashing detergent solution should also work well.

Automobile specfics products tend to cost more.

Unless you get them at good prices, I would just use whenever available in the house. A bristle brush will certainly helps a lot. Over the years, I have used Tide, Mr.Clean, etc...

Possibly true for small consumer sizes purchased at common consumer retailers, but not so when you compare commercial packaging and sales channels.

I use stuff like APC around the house because it works better and costs a lot less than household products.
