Ultimate Wash and Wax, Quick Question

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum's and to Meguiar's fabulous products, I just had a quick question. I am planning on Claying my car with the kit that Meguiar's sells. Now i know you are supposed to wash your car entirely before you use the clay, then clay your car, and then wax. But my question is instead of fully waxing the car would it be ok to use the Ultimate Wash and Wax product after the Clay bar to remove the excess clay and leave a waxy finish? Welcome to Meguiar's Online.

Unfortunately products like Ultimate Wash & Wax and spray waxes don't offer enough protection just by themselves. They rather work as wax/ protection boosters. You still need a coat of wax (either liquid or paste) for proper protection of your car paint.

Gentle paint cleaner (after washing and claying, before waxing) would also contribute to a better look/ protection of your car's paint. ColorX would be one of the choices.

I am planning on doing all of this today, and honestly it will be my first time waxing so i need a wax that is fool proof. I don't want to be driving a swirl machine around lol any product recommendations?

NXT Tech Wax 2.0 and Gold Class Carnuba Plus are available nearly everywhere and make good "starter" waxes. Ultimate Wax is also becoming available everywhere, but requires a bit more experience. However, all Meguiar's waxes are easy to use.

Please keep in mind, the main purpose of wax is not the removal or hiding of swirls.

NxT Tech Wax 2.0 has some polishing ability, besides its protection, so it would be a good choice for two-in-one product polishing/ waxing.

If your car has already below surface defects, like swirls, I would use SwirlX (cleaner/ polish) or stronger Ultimate Compound (cleaner) between claying and waxing. Those products permanently remove swirls.

also my car is white, will swirls show up nearly as bad??

Light colored cars hide swirls better. You have to look at them from short distance and under right light and angle to see.

I must say I am thoroughly impressed, I will NEVER use another brand again!
