  • Road Trip coming up

Hey there, I am going on a road trip in 3 days and I just spent oodles of time detailing my car to look good. The drive is going through some mountains, so bug smears and splats are gonna happen. What would you recommend to reduce the time of removal once I get to my destination. Should I was the front bumper at a car wash and then use ultimate detailer after or just use ultimate detailer and a microfiber?

I would use a No-Rinse product to wash your car once you get to where your going and call it a day.

You will drive your self crazy if you decide to quick detail this time a year at every stop but that another idea. Another suggestion is just to put blue masking tape of the bumper then you wont need to worry about it until you get to your destination.

Could hit a coin-op and pressure wash the bumper, then spot free rinse it.

I used blue painter's tape on my G35. Taped up the whole bumper, 1/4 of the hood (front part) and my mirriors.
Drove from Vancouver to Calgary...approx 1000 kms or about 10-12 hrs.
Killed like a million bugs.....once I arrived ...peeled off and my G was looking mint. On my way back...did the same.

Yea, rec'd a lotta weird looks from people....but who cares...lol

          I painter's tape is not for you....may I suggest

Also, you may want to consider this product: http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...rrivals&page=1

Used it before going on a trip from home to Chattanooga, TN a couple of years ago. (670 miles one way) Put it on the front half of the hood. When we got back home only two of the bug splats needed more attention than normal from the microfiber mitt that I use on car body surfaces on the 2 bucket method.
