  • Quick detailer question????

hey everyone. Just bought my whole new kit for washing my brand new black jeep. I bought some "quick detailer" and wanted some info on it. I know its for inbetween washes to give it a nice shine, but I was wondering if the dust and dirt on the car can create swirl marks and scratches once I spray the product on and rub it in ??? Whats the proper way of using this???

    Re: Quick detailer question????

You only want to use Quik Detailer for light dust. It is not a waterless wash so it is not designed for anything heavy.

Here is the method I use for quick detailing....

    1) Spray 2-3 pumps of product onto one side of a properly folded microfiber.
    2) Spray the surface you will be cleaning (a panel at a time or for larger panels, half a panel). Cover the whole surface in a light mist.
    3) Wipe in one direction with the moist side of the microfiber towel you sprayed.
    4) Buff off any excess product with a seciond, clean, dry microfiber towel.

Using this method, I am able to ensure that there is as little risk as possible of scratching the paint. Everyone has a different technique but this is mine.

The Meg's QD is definately rather light weight but fantastic for what its designed for. Light dust, use with claybar and such. If you want something a little more robust, there are products out there.

        Re: Quick detailer question????

Not to jack this thread...but I do have question about Megs Quik Detailer.

I 1st used this QD when I used the clay kit for the 1st time. I am not 100% sure but isn't it usually a milky white color?? I only ask because I bought a larger bottle of the Megs QD...but this bottle ...the liquid was clearly a "blue" tinted liquid. I did buy this from Amazon.com before discovering ADS & AG.....can someone clarify this? Thx
