After spending my memorial day with my wife and daughter in Boston today, I came home and looked at my wife's car and said "this thing is in dire need of a wash." So around 6, after a Gold Class bath and clay bar session I decided it was finally time to use my DA. I've had the thing for about 3 weeks now. Since I received it from ADS, it's sat in my dining room, lonely, not seeing the light of day since I ripped open the box like a child on Christmas. Inclement weather in New England is nothing surprising around here. Of course, it had to rain 3 weeks straight, Murphy's Law in full swing, I guess.
So, the day is finally here! AND....
My technique is horrible... Lol. I got her Black 09 Civic looking "better", to say the least. I used the least aggressive methodology using ColorX first, then after a quick pad change, I went to SwirlX. I'd say the overall improvement was a 7/10. Think I'll move up to UC next to get rid of some of the fine, deeper scratches it has.
I have to say, even though it was my first time behind the DA, I felt a great sense of pride. Just by making my wife's car look a little bit better was
a great feeling. As a first timer, I was a little scared using my G110, but I got used to it. Now I know what people meen by proper technique. It isn't easy.
And a quick thanks to everyone who contributes positively on this site. Without your help and advice, I would've never attempted this.
