What to wash with before Ultimate Compound ?

im thinking of what meguiars car wash to buy can you use ultimate wash & wax to wash before using ultimate compound or scratch x ? or should i get ntx wash or gold class

I think Ultimate Wash and Wax would be fine, as any of Meguiar's washes. However, I would definitely consider claying the vehicle before using the Ultimate Compound. Claying will ensure that the vehicle is completely free of dirt, oxidation and any other contaminants, only furthering a better shine after the UC and Scratch X is used.

It doesn't really matter what car wash you buy. A car wash is a car wash especially that you're going to perform a full detail after. Others even use dawn when they're going to fully detail their ride after because they want to strip off any other sealants or waxes on the paint's surface.

For maintenance washes, I would suggest Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax or Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash.

Yeah UC or any type of cleaner polish will remove the wax protection... That's why I suggested that it doesn't matter what you use. Even the cheap soap they offer (deep crystal car wash) would suffice.

UW&W is kind of expensive to use of course if you will just be detailing after.

I would say any Meguiar's wash is going to serve you right before the UC. I would definitely consider claying your whole vehicle before using the UC. I think having the surface prepped and free of oxidation and contaminants can only help you get better results!

Not sure about Canada, but watch the WalMart for sales on UWW. I find it on sale every so often. Price drops make it great to use before corrective work.

yeah its on sale at canadian tire right now so thats why im thinking of getting it i just bought uc and its amazing but i need a new wash and the smooth surface clay kit
