  • Skipping paint cleaners.

I must be taking care of my car pretty well because I only had to hit maybe 3 spots with 105 after claying. Anyway, I inspected the entire car and there aren't any other defects. I don't see the point in wasting good product so I was just gonna skip the 205 and apply my polish then sealant. Any negatives to skipping the cleaner step if there are no defects to be found?

If it looks good to your eyes, by all means wax away. If it is your car, there is no harm in stopping at M105 if it works for you. On some paints, it does that

The paint cleaner or cleaner/polish also removes dirt, so that would be the only other benefit.

Thanks guys! I hit spots that needed it with 105, skipped the 205 and put down #7. I wash my car very often so there wasn't much dirt, even during claying. I used #7 on the PC with a finishing pad and man did that make it SO much easier to remove. Then I put down Wolfgang DGS 3.0, again using the PC and a finishing pad. It came out really nice. I was short on time so maybe next time I'll make a pass with 205. Tomorrow morning I'm gonna finish it off with a coat of Quick N Slick and call it a day. Came out really nice.
