  • Nice finish for a Black Car

Hi everyone I'm new here and its nice seeing such a big community passionate about how their cars look. I drive a Black 2004 Dodge SRT4 and I was wanting some recomendations and tips on detailing a black car. below is what I have used and like just looking to get more suggestions. I use a rotary buffer just so you know.

    1. Wash
    2. Clean/ Prep Clay Bar

    3. Polish Ultimate Compound
    4. Protect/ Wax #26
    5. Maintain

Let me know what you all think I'm all ears!

Not sure you should use UC with a Rotary?...sure you don't have a DA instead?

Yeah ,a rotary is going to want something like #205/#105.

And not much need for something as strong as UC/#105 every time, unless you are messing up your finish somehow.

Sorry about that I ment to say I have a DA and not a rotary. Thanks.
But I do have rotary that I would like to start using more but I need more practice with it so any tips for that would be great as well.

Not using UC it everytime. Just this time I have been neglecting the car over tha winter working 55 plus hrs a week and not wanting to deail the car. As i said I'm all ears and will take any suggestion.
          Thanks

If the only problem is dirt, then #205/Ultimate Polish would be fine for DA use.

Now if swirls/scratches were added over the winter, then something stronger like UC may be needed.

For the best looks though, you will likely want to finish up the cleaning with Ult. Polish.

After that, it is just the wax of your choice, 2 thin coats are best.
