Is UP a pure polish or is it abrasive?

It has mild abrasives as well as an abundance of beautifying agents/oils. Although it has only minor cut, I did find myself observing a noteworthy amount of paint transfer when using a black finishing pad and a G110v2 on a single stage white car.

I use a foam bonnet on a Turtle Wax Random Orbital so I shouldn't have much cut should I?

Don't expect much cut/ paint removal to do serious defect correction but you'll see improvement and very good shine at the end.

As Greg said, no, you should have virtually no cut at all using an orbital. You would have more potential cut working by hand.

Will Ulitmate Polish strip old wax?

Yes it will. After using UP you need to seal the finish (WAX IT)

Ok, so there isn't really any need to use a paint cleaner to strip wax if I'm going to polish right?

Have to watch getting caught up in the names/different companies terms.

Meguiars would call Ult. Polish a cleaner/polish, so it will do both.
