Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner

How caustic is this stuff? I am a bit confused by it..."ALL" wheel implies its safe on "ALL" wheels, but is it only clear coated wheels?

As far as I know...it's safe on All wheels. I used it on my chrome rims and worked like a charm. Also used it on other alloys too with no problems.

It's not caustic at all, it's acidic. Hot Rims has a pH of 1.5-2.5. pH is secondary when determining corrosiveness. With the reputation that Meguiar's has, I would trust that they put their chemists to work and indeed do offer an 'all wheel cleaner'.

It is not safe for bare aluminum wheels.

It's not caustic at all, it's acidic.

Things that are acidic can be caustic. However, just because something is low in pH doesn't mean it is caustic. Having a high pH can be caustic as well.

Yeah you are correct, thanks for the clarification. Typically anything in my industry, although technically incorrect, with a high pH is deemed 'caustic', e.g. Sodium Hydroxide solutions. So, that immediately popped in my head first. Next time I'll ask for an explanation.

I bought two bottles of All Wheel from ADS..didn't realize that I should have gone for the AWC instead...

Work Rezax II. Have mixed messages..some indicate they are clear coated, others say anodized. If clear I am ok with the All Wheel, if anodized, should be using the Aluminum wheel....How to tell what they are really made of? Anybody know?

The face doesnt look anodized... but maybe somewhere on there.

Yeah, I like the Aluminum Wheel Cleaner myself anyway... Might be able to return yours to a store that sells it for an even exchange.
