  • Warped Bumper Fix?

My front bumper has an area that is about the size of a circle with a diameter of half a foot that is warped. This is on jet black paint so the area looks noticeably sunk in. This is a polyurethane bumper and I was wondering if anyone knows of any fixes for this?

Do you have any pictures? I know I, along with some others here work for body shops and would be able to tell a lot better if we could see how bad it is.

I've heard it can be heated with a heat gun and popped back into place most of the time. Try Google

It's not too bad, but it does distort the reflection on that area I circled in yellow.

I've heard of that, but I'm wondering if it will last with the heat from the engine and sun. Having no experience with this method, I also don't want to make things worse and have it sink in even more. Thanks for the advise though, I'll look into it more to see how successful it is.

I unfortunately got into an accident with my 02 z28 and it dented the plastic bumper severely i placed a space heater in front just to heat it up and be extremely cautious do not get it too hot...all i did was shut the heater off pressed out dent from behind and when it cooled it stayed in place

The heat gun method is permanent. It definitely isn't something that will give a temporary solution or leave the plastic permanently soft or malleable.

The thing is, there is a fine line between "just enough" heat, and too much. This is something you may want to consider leaving to the pros - or if you are bold enough, research it online and attempt away at your own risk
