  • question about Brinkmann Dual Xenon

    hi guyz..wanna ask something (again)..hahhaa

i just got my Brinkmann Maxfire and i was wondering how to use it..when i use it on black car, it works..but when i use it on white car, i can hardly see the swirls..but i know it's in there..is there some methods that i can use??

also, in my country they usually use 240V but on the brinkmann's charger it says 120V..can i charge it in the wall or i have to use a transformer(if that's the word) to change the current to 110V??

I guess you would need one of those travel adapter kind of things.

As far as the white car, it will always be harder. Cant try to change the angle, or more in the shade, so it is a little darker maybe.

Re: question about Brinkmann Dual Xenon

I haven't done a white car yet, but I looked a a light car once!! I might suggest turning off the room lights and have the Brinkmann be the only light source in the room. Then move the light around different angles. This technique worked for me anyway when I looked at a light colored car.

If your Brinkmann is rechargeable, it may have come with an "AC Adaptor". Mine says 120 Volt AC input and 12 Volt DC output.

If this is what you have, then yes you will need an adapter or additional device to convert your 240 volt to 120 volt.

However, look at your "AC Adaptor" and see if it says 240-120 Volt. Then you might not need an additional device. If it only list one voltage, then you are stuck providing just that correct voltage. Whatever you do, do not try to change the shape of the prongs on your adaptor to get it to go into the wall socket.

Sounds like the 110V in the transformer should be right.

Re: question about Brinkmann Dual Xenon

110v & 120v devices/outlets are basically interchangeable. Plugging either into a 220v outlet, on the other hand, is a very bad idea.

As for using the light, hold it up high, not down close to the paint. Angle it so that the light reflects directly back into your eyes, but focus on the paint, not the reflection of the light itself. Swirl marks, even on white paint, can be very easy to see depending on how bad they are. Have you tried looking at this white vehicle in direct sunlight, and if so can you see swirls then? If the paint is metallic white then the metal flakes can make it more difficult to see fine swirl marks.

Here's a white car we buffed out a couple of years ago - the swirls are painfully obvious in direct sunlight, and under the Brinkmann they certainly stood out.

so, it's safe to charge in a 110V outlet right??

i've seen it..and under sunlight the swirls are much more horrible than brinkmann..guess i done it wrong..will try your method then michael..thx..
