diffrence btween Mild and Aggresive detailing clay
Re: diffrence btween Mild and Aggresive detailing clay
i'm going to detailed a 2004 car thats never been clayed b4..is mild or aggresive better??
my only concern is that aggresive clay will leave a scratch the car..
Re: diffrence btween Mild and Aggresive detailing clay
I would still start with mild version. It's more aggressive than Meguiar's consumer clay. If you really can't remove some contaminants than aggressive clay is your super power.
Re: diffrence btween Mild and Aggresive detailing clay
What are you trying to remove?
Once a paint surface has been washed it could be ‘cleaned’ with a chemical paint cleaner to remove surface contaminants. I know the standard answer is to use clay but it was formulated to remove paint over-spray.
A decontamination (chemical) product will remove sintered brake dust, including the particulates that are imbedded just below the clear coat surface without leaving scratches (IronX)
Re: diffrence btween Mild and Aggresive detailing clay
How badly contaminated the car is will depend on how much exposure it's had, how it's been maintained, etc. 7 years of sitting outside 24/7 and never being waxed will likely mean it's quite badly loaded up. But 7 years of light driving, even half way decent washing and maybe a regular use of just cleaner wax, and then garage parking overnight will substantially reduce the potential for contaminants.
It's darn near impossible to determine exactly what you need to use, or how long it might take, just from a simple time description. Unless you fully plan on machine polishing paint, and unless it is very badly contaminated, we'd suggest staying away from the C2100 aggressive clay. C2000 mild (the blue stuff) is a noticeable step up from our consumer clay, but the chances of it negatively impacting the paint are virtually nil - extremely delicate paints are the exception.
As always, evaluate the surface first before formulating a plan of attack. Then choose the least aggressive method to get the job done.

well..i think the owner didn't have a garage..so i guess he kept it outside for 7 years..and i really doubt he ever had it detailed b4..hahhaa...the swirls are really BAD..i just used brinkmann on it..
my car is a toyota and it usually have a very workable paint,am i rite??i'll use SwirlX first..
btw, i've bought the aggresive clay coz i can't find any other clay in my town..out of stock everywhere....
is it okay if i use aggresive clay??coz i planned to detail it in this week..and the clay will be in stock in 1 or 2 months..
