I am fixing up an old mid 70s tent trailer, It looks great, but the canvas has a few different colors (orange and white stripes on the part that folds out) and is very dirty & neglected, I am wondering if APC would help on this? or if there are any products I could even get at a hardware store etc that are better suited to clean canvas?

I've used APC on canvas with good results. Unfortunately, that means nothing if your canvas is 40 years old. Who knows how colorfast it is now?
I would dilute the APC at 20:1 (40:1 for APC+) and try it in an inconspicuous place agitated with a SOFT brush. You can then bump up the concentration slowly.
I believe there's a dedicated canvas cleaner in the Marine Line.
