    Hey guys,

I've read some threads that say the black box is just a gimmick...and it seems the consensus is that u should stick with ur regular wax...

I have a new 2011 black mazda 3....and was walking through autozone when i saw it and wondering if i should get it...

think i'll just stick with regular nxt wax...or ultimate wax

With all respect for Turtle Wax and its products Black Box is a temporary solution. There are some fillers to hide defects and make car look good. Wash your vehicle couple times and it's gonna look like you haven't done any work at all.

Products like SwirlX or Ultimate Compound offer real defect removal: once they are gone they are gone for good. You can't go wrong with any Meguiar's protection: NxT Tech Wax 2.0 or Ultimate Wax.

not to show any disrespect to any other brands such as TW, but I have never been interested in turtle wax with what ever products they release....
But did have a hard feeling to accept their products especially when I found these in two different hardware shops in Jakarta, Indonesia:

Theres a difference in a person who has to do it and a person who wants to do it

Actually, I use the black Box once a year on my "survivor" El Camino. The paint has some areas where the original lacquer has developed some cracking. After polishing with M07 and M80, I work some of the black stuff into the cracks and then do my LSP. It hides the paint defects to a degree, as opposed to having them amplified by white wax residue. As others have said it's a temporary fix at best, and IMO works best on single-stage paints.

We can see Meguiar's products in both your photos.
So, I assume you don't accept Meg's either then ?

I am just having fun with you.

I like to remove defects, not hide them.

Yes, it takes more work to remove then hide so the Black Box is perfectly marketed to people who dont know what paint correction really is.

On the other hand for guys like Billy Jack with single stage original paint jobs the fillers in the Black Box are the only way to get reasonable results.
