  • 1st time To Use DA & MF System

Hi guys...A week ago I ordered the Meguiar's DA polisher and MF sytem kit thru autogeek and got them last friday, so Saturday morning I started the FUN DETAILING/POLISHING ACTIVITY

I started by washing my car with the 2 bucket process which I learned from the detailing 101 class from Mike and a pressure washer from costco.

After washing her I clayed with Mother's (sorry no Meguiar's clay at Walmart) while drinking my favorite beer. Claying was so easy coz I guess my car is still kinda smooth.

And the main part begins...sorry guys no BEFORE PIX coz it was raining so I cant take a nice pix so you guys can see the swirl, scratches etc etc and garage is not that well lighted. Taped the rubber parts, trim, lights
etc etc... it took me half day saturday just to do the "Correction" system.

The 1st step was easy (correction) except I made a booboo at the end of the process coz I was too aggresive. Anyway this morning I started the FINISHING system and only took me an hour or so....

here are the FINISHED product..not bad for a newbie

    last and final pix

Looks great. One beautiful ride you have there. What sealant or wax are you going to top it off with ?

D301 Finishing Wax is a cleaner wax so it has a protection in it.

Paul just suggested another coat of your favorite wax/ sealant for even longer lasting protection.

That's half the fun about being addicted to detailing , trying different combos of toppers such as sealants , wax etc. Good luck.

Looks good. Was there just minor swirls in the paint before you polished? How long was the 1st step compounding process for whole car?

my car has gazillion swirls marks but not anymore. 4-5 hrs with smoke and beer break. Hood was hard coz of the swirl marks, doors and fender looks easy but its kinda hard coz of the angle you can really feel the polisher doing its job and also the weight of the polisher.

Great work. Got a few questions for you. Most importantly, who did you have build up the car? Did you go through the dealer or Custom Shop? How much horse does she pull?( I think its 525 stock, but that looks far from stock)

Now for the tech DA stuff

Im very curious on if this system is quicker then using lake country pads on the da with 105 & 205?

I know this is a SMAT product and it states it can be used on factory finishes. What about resprays or touch ups?

I guess this new system takes the guess work out of garbing the wrong pad and polish for the job.

Again great job, blacks always a bear, then theres a breeze and your back to step one all over again!

Shops only does the instal for me, I bought all my CF goodies on different websites. Stock is 451 HP but ECU tunes bumps it up to 520++ HP.

I remember now that my previous painter did the lower part of the bumper, had an overspray on that part of the hood so he buffed it with a rotary. Like what Mike (101 class instructor) mentioned, most painter does'nt know how to polish/buff the right way, coz 3-4 sets of passes wont do that burn.

what did you do about that burn spot from your other post? Sounds like it was over spray so im assuming you removed it.
