although the paint lacks luster and seems flat probably from sitting outside dealer lot

Well, what kind of car is it?

In general, if you want the swirls out, you will need to do something like:

1. Wash - Gold Class Wash, 2 buckets, good towels, mitt, etc
2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
3. Clean - Ultimate Compound & Ultimate Polish
5. Wax - Nxt 2.0 or Ult. Wax. 2 thin coats are best.

6. Maintain - UQW after future washes.

But a fair bit of effort is needed to remove swirls by hand. Best not to plan on more than a panel or two a day. You have to work the product in, not just spread it around. Always do a test spot first, dont do the whole car and find out it didnt work or soemthing.

1. wash - ultimate wash and wax
2. step 1 paint cleaner (but it's new car, so i think i might skip this)
3. step 2 polish

what wax should I buy for a new car? Although the car has been sitting outside for a long time...it was really dusty when they brought it into the dealership...the salesman said they would “prep” it for me, but I think he just sent it through an automatic car wash...I see scratches on the paint...


I was thinking of getting the liquid ultimate wax as the first coat on a new car? is that ok?


The choices out there are really confusing me, do i need a paint cleaner wax...then a polish...then finally a Wax?


Or can I just do it all in one step with the liquid ultimate wax?

The paint is pretty clean since it’s a new car...and not too rough....even though i’m pretty sure it’s been sitting outside for quite some time on the lot....
