Are you tinting your windows darker, or removing it to go lighter? You can safely layer tint so you don't have to go through this. If you must peel it off, use a heat gun to heat up the tint until the adhesive starts to become "gluey" and SLOWLY peel it off. I've done it before, but its not exactly easy or fun.

      Re: removing tint

I am going darker.. 5% rear and 20% front. I have removed tint before just not on window with defrost... The side windows are easy ... Cause what ever glue Is left behind I use razor blade... But the back window I can't use razor blade

I would just get the company who is re-tinting your windows to also remove the old tint.

That way, if anything goes wrong, the liability is on them. I can't imagine it would cost much extra either - especially if you just get them to remove your rear tint only.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

They want an extra $100 if they remove the old tint

Layer the tint, thats what I did. Tint has no problem sticking to another layer of tint. Its cheaper and easier. I have 1% on my side windows and have had no problem with it over the last 6 months. The shop I got it done at even warrantied the layered tint. If the shop you are going to now won't warranty it, I would be skeptical about the quality of work done there. Just my .02

I rather not layer the tint.
