  • Too Many Dressings!

I am in need of a tire, engine, wheel well, trim etc dressing. When I go to the Detailer Line I find three products which are:
    • Hyper Dressing
    • Water Based Dressing
    • All Season Dressing

I have probably looked at the different 5 times now, but I still don't know which one is "best" overall as far as appearance, durability etc. I'm sure one is designed to go on engines better versus a wheel etc, but If you were going to have one which one would you get and why?

    Thanks

I have never used the Water Based Dressing.

But I always like to have M40, HD, & ASD on hand.

Well, HD wont be as durable, but can be used anywhere pretty easily.

Hyper Dressing allows you to control its gloss by dilution ratio: from 1:1 for high gloss to 4:1 for natural finish. It can be used for interior or exterior applications.

As said above, All Season Dressing lasts longer.

Water Based Dressing is great for quick gloss restoration for interior/ exterior plastic, rubber, leather and vinyl.

          Thanks for your replies.

So I guess you get a choice between:
          • Lasting long (ASD)
          • Dilution Ratie/Cheaper (HD)

I didn't include Water based dressing since I don't think it fits my needs as well.

Their are a number of differences between the dressings. Without getting to complicated, the biggest differences between Hyper/Water Base and All Season is that Hyper/Water can be used both internally and externally and can be diluted. We do not recommend All Season for the motor or internally. However, All Season will last longer than Hyper/Water.

Versatility wise, Hyper Dressing would be the best choice. While it doesnt last too long on the exterior it gives off a very nice look (3:1), dries to the touch and works every where(great in the engine bay). ASD is a bit glossy and greasy for my taste so I mostly use it for wheel wells.

I don't care for my trim, tires, engine etc to be greasy looking. Too bad water based dressing don't last a long time. I think I will get some Hyper Dressing and possibly some All Season Dressing for the wells, we will see.

                Thanks for your input!

I have that right now. For some reason, I can't get it to work. It goes on fine, but then it seems to splotch after a day or two. I've heard good things about it so I really wanted it to work.

I also don't know the difference now of these:

These products are identical. Our Ultimate Protectant was given a new name and label in hopes of it resonating better with consumers. Some consumers are not as savvy as our forum members and identify more easily with the new name, Ultimate Black.

Ah okay, that makes sense. I take it the Ultimate Protectant spray is also the same?
