  • How often?

How often should I wax my vehicle (I apply 2 coats), it's not dirty around here, but rains often.

And what about the Claying/Cleaner/Polish, I don't think this needs to be done as often. So how often?

    How often to wax

I would suggest every 2-3 months.

Keep in mind that all though it doesn't get that dirty around where you live, there is still alot of pollution fallout in the rain that falls.

You'll get really great shine using NXT wax or even Hi-Tech Yellow wax.

    Hope this helps.

You only need to clay if the paint does not feel smooth. After you wash your vehicle, feel the paint surface with your hand, if you feel rough spots, it is probably time to clay. You need to use a cleaner polish when the level of swirls and scratches is above your tolerance.

Tar, tree sap, and rail dust are things that may require claying if they land on your paint. I you live or work in an area where tree sap is a problem, using a QD every day can reduce the frequency of claying. For some reason, tree sap was a huge problem for me last summer. If I didn't use a QD every day, the tree sap would adhere to the paint so that clay was required. And I don't feel like claying my car every weekend! For me it is a very time consuming process.

Fortunately, if you have a lot of rain, you will probably have less trouble with tree sap. At least that has been my experience.

So I would agree with the others that every two or three months would be a good frequency for polishing and waxing.

This depends so much on the conditions you deal with, the products you use, and the results you want to achieve. I could never go 2 to 3 months without waxing, and the conditions I deal with require some paint cleaning on a fairly frequent basis. Of course, I'm pretty finicky about the appearance of my vehicles, so I follow a maintenance routine, and select products accordingly.

Generally speaking, if you are using an LSP with some light cleaning/polishing abilities, it should reduce the need for frequently claying/cleaning/polishing............. provided that you are doing everthing correctly during your normal maintenance routine (washing/drying/QDing), and are using the best tools. (mitts, applicators, towels.... Etc.)

Again, so many variables and so much depends on what "you" expect.
