  • UC, m205, Questions first timer.

Hello gentlemen, i am new to the forum and i am about to do my first "serious" detail on my own car,
    my arsenal,
UC M205 and nxt 2.0 wax all via PC
    cobra mf towels
    LC orange, yellow, blue pads
    alcohol/water mix
    and lots of anti-swirl spirit

excuse my ignorance as i am only 19 but i am open to learn from you guys

    i have some questions.

    1. can i go straight to the wax from m205 with a LC orange pad?
wax/sealer would be applied via LC blue pad

    2. is it a good idea to start with Ultimate Compound on an LC orange pad then move to m205 with an orange pad again?

    3. can i use the same pad for compound and m205?

    4. i read that nxt wax 2.0 leaves streaking and that it should be wiped off with a damp mf towel the dried. is this at all true?

I would start with a test spot.

Put a tape line down on the hood and on one side use M205 with an LC White Pad and on the other side use Ultimate Compound with an LC Orange Pad. Then, see which side you like better and proceed to polish the car with whichever method gave you the best results.

I would not use M205 with an LC Orange Pad since it is a finishing polish.

Do not use the same pad for M205 that you used for Ultimate Compound. If you are going to start with Ultimate Compound and an LC Orange Pad then you may want to use M205 on an LC White Pad to enhance the clarity of the finish and further refine the paint.

NXT 2.0 does not leave streaking when applied correctly. Apply it thin, let it set up completely for at least 15 minutes. Do the Swipe Test. If it passes, then proceed to wipe it off, otherwise, wait 10 more minutes and try the Swipe Test again.

I would use speed 5 with Ultimate Compound and the LC Orange Pad and speed 4 or 5 with M205 and the LC White Pad.

Have you seen this Lake Country web page?

        Very helpful, if you haven't.
