I have an M5 E39 and had a full respray 3 months ago. The result was perfect but a few issues have arisen since the respray.
Basically where the bodyshop has used filler where i had a few dings in the bodywork, as the filler has hardened and the lacquer has dropped in these places. It looks like lots of rough mixed scratches in the lacquer. It wasnt there when i picked the car up, but has got worse as the paint has
hardened.
I spoke to the body shop and they said its fine its basically where the filler has hardened, and they said the best cause of action is too drop the car back in to them and they will perform a wet sand to solve the issue.
I am curious as to if this is correct and am concerned i will be left with less lacquer in these areas and it sounds quite abrasive action.
The bodywork guys are well known and do perform resprays and bodywork on many prestige cars such as aston martins and ferraris but i just would like a second opinion.
It does retract especially in sunlight from a perfect finish and i would like to sort it, but first would like to get a few other opinions.
Any advice is appreciated.
