  • White Haze on Paint

I'm having problems with my paint since I've waxed it. There a white haze on my hood scoop and above the doors. I've tried polishing compound on the spots and everything and nothing seems to help it. I don't know if its a clear coat issue or what but the clear coat seems fine above the doors. Heres a few pics of what I'm talking about any help would be greatly appreciated.

What did this paint look like before you waxed it? Was it already hazy and chalky. What kind and year of car?

The paint in those areas looked fine before I waxed it. Its a 1988 Cutlass Supreme.

What product(s) did you use? By hand I assume? Post exactly what you did. It will help users figure out what happend.

That is definitely a clear coat failure issue. For whatever reason it wasn't apparent prior to waxing - had the condition been caused by the wax (and for the record, this sort of issue can NOT be caused by waxing) it would not have caused it selectively, it would have created a problem throughout the paint.

Did you use a cleaner wax by any chance?
