    That's it, I'm NEVER using Meguiar's AGAIN!!!!

    So I get a call from Mike Pennington (some dude who is really high up at Meguiar's and thinks he is so cool). The conversation went something like this...

    MikeP: Hey Todd, my new car is Floriday (seriously this is how he pronounced Florida), can you detail it for me...

    Todd: Sure

    MikeP: It's next to my jet in Hanger 54.

    Todd: Okay

    Judging by the picture below, you can see that they clearly pay Mike P WAY TOO MUCH, which means that Meguiar's is charging us TOO MUCH. A 2.85 million dollar Bugatti Veyron SS!



    Okay, I'm joking about the conversation above and I still love Meguiar's. The truth is that Mike was contacted by Bugatti to have one of two (in the US) Bugatti Veyron Super Sports detailed. I am absolutely grateful/thankful that Mr. Pennington and the crew at Meguiars (as well as Bugatti USA) would trust myself to work on such an amazing automobile. I'm the stunningly handsome (think Brad Pitt good looks) guy in the yellow. I was fortunate enough to be able to fly in Bryan Burnworth (gmblack3a) who is the gentleman to the front of the car. His help was invaluable. Write up coming sometime in 2011.

    The Bugatti was in really good hands of yours and Bryan's. What a fantastic car.

    Todd, you're married to Meguiar's and there's no divorce option. I don't think Meg's products ever let you down.

              When I first saw your title, I was like yeah right. You were one of the beta testers of the MF system and your review was amazing. Hey I see those MF discs too!

                  Eric(blk45) and I going for a cruise at the airport (from one hanger to the next, about 1/4 mile away. Bugatti says that the Veyron SS will run a low 9 second quarter mile. I say we got there faster.

                    I have the other one. Can you detail mine? Did I say that out loud??? Beautiful car. Are you italian? Any trick to working on carbon fiber? i doubt I will ever come across one of these but some race cars I play with are carbon.

                      The carbon on this car was clear coated (with lacquer, judging by the smell it made when we where polishing it!). The paint was BEYOND hard, it was the hardest paint, by far, that I have ever worked on. The body structure was STIFF as well. You cannot get any flex (or vibration) in any panel when polishing it, even when adding a lot of down pressure.

                      There is no real trick to polishing carbon fiber that has been clear coated, other than to watch the heat built up because the substrate will not dissipate heat as quickly as metal. The same applies to plastics and fiberglass as well.

                              AMAZING!!!!

                              I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
                              I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                              Remove swirls my friends.
