  • Help please with product purchasing

I have a MELLOW YELLOW color mini cooper S ( 2009), I am in the process of buying products. On the list is : Gold Car wash and conditioner, supreme shine microfiber 3 pack, even coat applicator 2 pack, deep pile microfiber wash mitt , water magnet drying towel and Ultimate liquid wax.

Should I purchase the ultimate quick detailer for using after the car wash and between the 4 times per year ultimate liquid wax treatment?

Should I purchase the Ultimate quik wax for between car wash and the 4 times per year ultimate liquid wax treatment?

Also, should i continue with the gold class car wash and conditioner for every car wash or alternate with the ultimate wash and wax?

I know folks have suggested the smooth clay compound etc but I don't think I need it. I garage my car daily when not driving. I rarely drive the car and only put in about 8000 miles per year.

do u have a lot of swirls on your car??if your car have never been detailed before, i suggests you buy a clay car to remove the surface bonded contaminant and paint cleaner like swirlX or UC to remove the swirls before you apply wax..

also..the time for each wax application depends on your environment..in my town..NXT just lasts 3 weeks..i heard Ultimate Wax last longer..but you should test it first..

i think UQD and UQW are important if you want to keep your car looking good..

also, i think the gold class shampoo is enough..but UW&W can enhance wax protection.
    well..choose whatever suits you..

also, you could buy some pure polish like M07 or Deep crystal polish to add gloss to your car..or Mild Cleaner / Polish like Ultimate Polish...

bought the Meguiars 7 piece paint correction kit from amazon for $25 as well. Might as well spend the time and do an excellent job the lst time around.

        thanks for your suggestion

Silvia, Pro01 has made some good points. I would suggest reading through this thread below and also viewing all the videos on the Meguiar's web site to understand the process to make that Mellow Yellow a screaming yellow.

I'm a real advocate for having a clean car before starting any process and follow that cleaning with a clay bar. So consider once a year and surely the first time, clay the car. The condition of the paint before you start will determine the end result. Having a smooth paint, free of bonded contaminates, will result in a fabulous shine in the end.

If I'm going to wax, I will wash with Gold Class. If I'm just washing, I will use Ultimate Wash and Wax.

Defect correction would usually follow Gold Class and a clay, but that discussion is quite a process and best suited to detailed discussions on their own. So, after washing and if the first time I would wax. If however, I've already waxed and this is just a routine washing, I will dry the car using Ultimate Quik Wax. Days later, or when I dust the car, I will use Ultimate Quik Detailer.

There are differing opinions when to use Ultimate Quik Wax and Ultimate Quik Detailer, but I think we all agree they are awesome products for the maintenance of your car's finish.
