Newbie question on detailing

I do apologize if there is already a thread for this, but...

I just purchased a Mustang and I have PLENTY of time to invest in making sure my Paint stays perfect. Yesterday I wash and wax with the Ultimate Wash and Wax. (liquid wax).

What are some other things I can do to ensure I keep the BEST protection and shine possible. Ex: I heard something about Clay??

Assuming the paint is swirl/scratch free, and you just need to maintain, this is a good simple detail:

1. Wash
2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
3. ColorX
4. Wax - Ultimate Wax
