  • Detailing steps

Hi, I am new to detailing and after searching around, i have an idea now but there is a question i cant find an answer to...

My order of detailing that I planned on was:

    1. Wet the surface and wash away surface dirt with pressure washer.
    2. Hand wash with soap and mitt.
    3. Meguiar's claybar kit and quick detailer spray
    4. wash again (do I need to wash it again AFTER claybar?)
    5. scratch x 2.0 and hand buff out the whole car for fine scratches
    6. wash again with soap (or do i leave on scratch x and proceed directly to waxing?)
    7. NXT 2.0 wax.

thank you for any and all feed back...

    1. Wash - Rinse first, then wash Gold Class soap or similar, 2 buckets, quality mitt, towels, etc.
    2. Clay - Clay kit, maybe buy an extra QD bottle.
    3. Clean - For swirls, scratches, on an entire car, you would probably want Ultimate Compound. You would apply to a panel, working in real well, and then removing with a MF towel before it dries. Removing swirls on an entire car by hand *****.. dont plan on all in one day.
    4. Polish - Optional, but something like Ultimate Polish may be wanted, esp if UC leaves any fine marks behind. Same idea, apply to a panel and remove before drying with a MF towel.
    5. Wax - Nxt 2.0 or Ultimate Wax. 2 thin coats is best.
